The impressions of skiing experience

Our hotel had become a paradise for us after such an experience. The next day, our bodies felt an immense workout from the day before but we attended the ski lessons nevertheless. There we learned how to stand on skis correctly, to lean forward when going down the hill for better maneuvers, and some other useful tricks. One of the most helpful lessons for me personally, was an exercise with the hands. I could balance on my skis much better and fell fewer times when I learned to utilize my hands and body. We were taught many exercises and lots of tricks as well.

On the third day of our ski vacation in Canada, after the educational ski lessons day, my husband and I gained much confidence in skiing. And indeed skiing seemed much easier and more pleasant when we applied all the tricks we learned at our ski-training. My husband and I went downhill numerous times and watching the kids ski was not unusual and scary any more. But skiing is a dangerous sport still and stay safe while skiing was very important to us. “Time is our friend”, I thought. As we were experiencing our skiing, this statement seemed to become very true.

While riding the slopes, we had noticed several times people hitting the trees and knocking other people off their feet when skiing down. We saw one person taken to the emergency room after loosing his balance on the way down and hitting a tree. The warning signs we erected in and around the resort to remind people about the sport’s rules and consequences. And I guess that accident was not a rare one.
